EUROPEAN INTEGRATION AT THE CROSSROADS
International Conference from the Perspective of Political Science, Economics and Law
Prague, March 16 - 17, 2007
Czernin Palace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Loretánské nám. 5, Prague 1
The idea of the conference is to draw attention to recent issues concerning the development of the EU through discussions in three sessions. The conference has four main aims: a) to provide a broad picture from three perspectives (political, legal, economic); b) to allow Czech scholars to discuss these issues in the Czech environment; c) to enable motivated students to take part in this discussion; and d) to draw attention of policy-makers to the complex character of these issues and show that the Czech academic discourse is part of a broader setting which provides an important impetus for political discourse and policy-making on the European level. We believe that such an event – organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome – will attract due attention of both academia and the broader audience.
